NJ.com: N.J. Symphony Orchestra’s ‘Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto’ was thrilling at NJPAC
“Feng was impressive throughout, and earned a standing ovation at the curtain call, but credit Slobodeniouk with presiding over the brisk, dancelike quality he brought to the piece. The orchestra is used to Zhang’s more full-throttle intensity, so it was nice to hear how well they took to Slobodeniouk’s more subdued balance and pacing, which combined with Feng, made the final passages bristle with life.”
