Dima Slobodeniouk is set to make his debut with the New York Philharmonic this week with concerts on the 17, 18 and 19 November 2021, stepping in for conductor Semyon Bychkov. They will perform Schostakovich’s Violin Concerto No. 1 with Karen Gomyo and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 1 in the Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center.
Over the last two weeks, he has been in the USA with hugely successful weeks with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Minnesota Orchestra. For his week in Boston, he received a fantastic review from The Boston Globe for his concerts with with soloist Beatrice Rana performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, in which ‘Slobodeniouk adroitly guided the orchestra to make her interpretation shine’ and his Dvořák’s Symphony No. 7 ‘had plenty of verve and soul’.
