Dima Slobodeniouk’s recording of Esa-Pekka Salonen’s cello concerto with soloist Nicolas Altstaedt and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra has been awarded with the ICMA Award in the category “Assorted programs”.

To pair it with Ravel’s Duo Sonata for violin and cello may come as a surprise, but is described by the ICMA as “an exciting expedition into a colourful cosmos of sound”. The performance blends both violin, performed by Pekka Kuusisto, and cello into a captivating spectacle.
